There is something magical about the age and that number in a young girl's mind that makes her anxious to reach that wonderful age. Perhaps it is that fact that she's heard of the saying "sweet sixteen", or maybe it's the idea of being a real teenager, or maybe she's envisioning her coming of age. No matter what it is, your daughter will have big dreams for her sweet sixteen and as a parent it is your duty to fulfill those dreams. 1. A Car. Every teenager wants a car so it's no surprise that your sixteen year old daughter will want one for her birthday. It doesn't have to be brand new, but it must be drivable and not embarrassing.

2. Flowers. Every girl wants flowers and most teenage girls have never received flowers. So send your daughter a beautiful bouquet of flowers on her 16th birthday, but make sure you send them to her at school so that everyone can see what she got.

3. A Pair of Earrings. These shouldn't be just any earrings: they should be real earrings, meaning that they should have real stones in them and should either be gold or platinum. A nice pair of diamond studs that aren't necessarily huge will be a nice gift for your sixteen year old and will be a gift that she'll remember and have forever.

4. A Ring. Nobody knows why but women love rings and your daughter probably doesn't have one so get her a nice, real ring. No need to have diamonds, her birthstone will be plenty for her.

5. Manicure and Pedicure. Most mothers don't allow their daughters to get spa services until they are older. Let your daughter's sweet sixteen be her introduction to female pampering. She probably desperately wants to be like mom so give her a little taste with a professional manicure and pedicure.

6. Professional Make-Over. Your daughter probably isn't allowed to wear make-up on a regular basis so surprise her with a make-over at Mac Cosmetics. It's a great way to boost her confidence and to properly introduce her to make-up application, which is every girl's dream.

7. Professional Hair Style. In addition to make-up, treat your daughter to a day at the hair salon. Allow her to get a more mature look so that she doesn't look like a little girl anymore- after all she's not!

8. A New Dress. Every teenager longs to look a little older, so get your daughter a new party dress that she can wear out for a night on the town with her friends. It doesn't need to be too sexy; age appropriate will do.

9. Room Makeover. If your daughter's room still looks like a little girl's room then it is perhaps time for you to let her grow up. Give her an allowance and allow her to update her room so that it fits her age.

11. Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party. Everyone has seen MTV's television show "My Sweet Sixteen". Well long before this show was popular, little girls have wanted a sweet sixteen birthday party. It is an absolute must that you give your daughter one otherwise she will hate you for the rest of your life.

12. Birthday Cake. Her birthday party must be accompanied with a gorgeous and delicious birthday cake. The more decadent the better. Make sure it's her favorite flavor and decorated in her favorite colors.

13. Cellular Phone. If she doesn't already have one, get her one. Enough said.

14. Decision Making Power. All sixteen year olds to be want to have some authority over their lives. That doesn't mean that you let them make all the decisions, but begin to allow your sixteen year old to make some decisions on her own. She will appreciate how much you trust her and will be the kind of daughter you've raised her to be.

15. A Credit Card. Okay this one may be a bit of a stretch, but every teenager wants to have a credit card. The beautiful thing is that these days you can get prepaid credit cards so you can control how much money your child spends.

16. Birthday Card from Her Parents. Never underestimate the power of love. Your teenager definitely wants to know that she's loved from her parents and like any woman, likes to have the love in writing. So if you can't do anything else for her, let her know how much your absolutely love her.
